A quick question or two on update 4.1 & 4.2

I have a few quick questions. I have been reading the boards for hours and can’t find a simple answer to my questions

My Wii has update 4.0U on it. I have completely skipped going to 4.1 or 4.2.
I have Homebrew 1.06 using IOS36 v4.18.
I’m also using USB Loader GX rev 8.15

Everything works flawlessly. Not a single problem doing anything.

Is it really necessary to go to version 4.1 or 4.2??? What will I gain by doing this?

Also, I know newer games come out with newer IOS’s that oftentimes come out with these new updates (4.1 – 4.2) , other than going to 4.1 or 4.2 are there options to put these newer IOS’s on the Wii without going to 4.1 or 4.2 so I can still play the newer games that come out with them?

I’m only asking since I noticed these two updates have come out really close to each other, and I know 4.2 basically tried to kill HomeBrew. I have a preorder in for Super Mario-Bros Wii, and I’m expecting this to come with or need a “newer” IOS then I have installed on my system. I could be wrong so I’m just checking in to see if there is a real reason to go to 4.1 or 4.2 other then making it harder for HomeBrew right now…

I don’t do any types of updates unless I’m doing them myself. No Nintendo Updates and no updates through the disk. Both are blocked off so anything I update this with I will be doing myself through HomeBrew.

System menu 4.1 only fixed a minor bug which caused the motion + video to play when you load Wii Sports Resort after playing a WiiWare or VC game.

Wow, I think I can live with that seeing that making the move to 4.1 or 4.2 may or may not break some things. I think I just stick with 4.0 until I find a better reason to move on.
