yeah~, u need to play a basic game once in order to be 3.x
say, Balloon Pop, MarioKart, Super Mario Galaxy, Carnival Games, Zelda_TP,...
otherwise,
goes wifi the way to 4.2
activate the Wii WiFi and try ur luck to find an unlocked internet connection....
Fork out the 5 dollars to rent a game, us it to update. Then you can softmod your wii. Avoid 4.2.
Thanks. I knew about the game method... but, as I said before, I really didn't want to buy a game.
Anyway... 5 bucks wasn't gonna do. My solution:
$1.99 Zelda Crossbow Training Wii System 3.0 U
DONE.
Still... I'm not satisfied with this. There were like a thousand people asking the same question and everybody gave the same answer you got.
I do a bit of programming. I made a couple of apps for the PSP. I'm going to put an end to this nonsense once and for all. After all this time I'm going to come up with a program that you can just update straight from 2.2. After all this time you shouldn't even NEED Twilight princess or any game.
In the beginning with the PSP you needed a copy of Grand Theft Auto and there was the same kind of exploit. Over time though, they just figured out a way you could work it without even needing the game. I know you can do that now with bannerbomb... but you have to imagine the dude sitting at home at four in the morning... ready to go...
You sure to bitch a lot for someone who just spent 2 bucks to mod his wii allowing him to rip off Big N and Friends for thousands. You received the same answer because that is the only way, with out Zelda or the other vulnerable games.
So how is a genius like yourself going to get a 2.2 wii to run your code without any game exploits- don't you think a lot of people who are likely smarter than yourself would have found a way if there was one.
One last thought, how many <3 wii do you think are out there, not very many.

Oh we are going to be GREAT friends.
You sure do talk a lot of **** for a dude that misspelled the word "do."
I don't think you have to be a genius. Matter of fact... I probably just need to be smarter than you... So I qualify!
Like I said, I actually have experience PROGRAMMING exploits (I actually have a lot more experience doing that than you do being a wannabe internet badass.) And my idea would be to use the existing Twilight hack only, instead of using a game to trigger it, I would use a program that fakes the game trigger.
I *understand* there are very few <3.0
But one is enough.
If there's one person on earth that I can help by writing a program like this, then I'm willing to give it a shot. (In spite of people like you.)
I program nothing. All I am say is the twilight hack is nothing more than a means to run code on the wii. You are saying you are going to write some code, but new code is not needed- you need to find a new vulnerability that exists on a 2 wii so you can run the code that already exists. But best of luck with that, you should be talking on wiibrew.org about your plans.
But while your at it, I would really like it if my wii had a jtag so I could flash my nand.
Also I know how to spell just fine, it is just difficult with three kids climbing on your back.

Hahaha... Told you we'd be friends.
I'll see what I could do about your jtag problem.
I don't need a new vulnerability... I believe the Twilight hack works on 2.2 doesn't it?
If not I won't waste my time. My idea was just to use something, besides twilight princess, to trigger the twilight hack. It's exactly what they did with banner bomb actually. I figure firmware as early as that has to have loopholes.
Thanks for pointing me towards Wiibrew. I'll do some digging.
I am sure there are more loopholes, but 4 have already been found. 3 games + bannerbomb, how many do you want? What we really need is a new boot2 exploit so we can all us bootmii to save our asses.

Alright. Explain what that means and I'll try to figure it out. I basically just got my Wii today. I know what boot2 is (I installed Bootmii earlier.)
I think you're talking about some sort of "Recovery Menu"... am I right?
I sort of studied the one they made for the PSP... that would be a cool thing to have on the Wii.
Maybe you can tell me what you know and then I can get creative.
