Complete Newb, Big Mess!

Hi,

Last night I tried to hack my Wii. I followed a guide from another website and I basically dont know what ive done, but I cant get anything working.

I've tried following a few guides from here and from YouTube etc but I always seem to get errors like 1035, 2011 and a few others.

Can someone please tell me the best way I can revert all my mistakes and start from scratch with a guide you recommend.

I would also like to know the best way to tell what version of wii I have etc and when I updated last night im sure I was updated to 4.2.

Ok ive managed to get it all working fine with CoverFloader

Is it safe to do Updates on the Wii??

Can someone shed some light for a n00b.

Is it safe to update and play games on internet etc....can you get banned?

dont update, not through an online update, and not from a disc.

If a disc ever asks you to update, click no, and come to the forums, it does NOT need to update your system menu, it just needs some updated IOS wads installing.

Your fine playing online, as long as you dont cheat!
