Getting N64 games on wii as channels

Hello all, I have a wii and it came with N64 games on my main channel screen. All I do is boot up the wii, click on the game (it has an animated window) as a channel and play using a GC controller.

My question is:
How did they get these games directly on the main channel screen?
I would like to attempt this myself...but don't know where to start.

OR can the N64 games be placed on the usb hard drive and run using usbloader or something like that...that would be ok as well.

The reading I've done suggests it needs to load through homebrew...but my current ones run directly as channels...I'm guessing they are stored in the main wii memory as well?

Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks so much!!

Ummmm..... either they use wadder to make it into a wad and then installed it, or they could have downloaded the games as wads and installed it, or they could have bought the games from the wii shop channel and installed it.

Install the VC wad files with wad manager. They will only work ON the wii, unless you patch the ios for the protection.

Can N64 wads install to a USB hard drive and loaded using usbloader ??
Or even GC games for that matter...

I would like to have all my games in one place if possible.

Oh that's not good.....I've been installing my N64 wads into the channels and the system memory filled up after about 7 games or so ?? Is that all there is?
How much system memory does the Wii have?
It's really too bad we can't install the wads on the USB drive and run them from there instead of the channels given that the memory fills up so fast...

It has not enough room. I think there is a patch to make them play off the SD card (removed security or something) but its sketchy.

That sounds about right. Before I found emulators I installed about 12 channels of NES -> N64 games and had around 700 memory blocks sucked up.

Speaking of low memory, I used the wii menu to backup some channels to my SD card thinking it would make a WAD file out of them and it didn't....shocker.
These were some games that were previously installed already - I guess they are in some sort of Nintendo format under the /private/ directory of the SD Card Or are these wads that just need to be renamed??? I wanted to move these games out of the wii and place them with all my other wads.

Also, I looked up some emulators for N64 and it seems they use yet another format .N64 Roms? NOt wads. This is making my head spin. Wii64 is what I found - has anyone used this?? any good?? And I'm assuming Roms are different from wads - I will search for this info. right after this...but I thought I'd ask...Can these ROMS be stored on the USB drive? That would be cool.
