Haven't had any problem with the latest WD passport drive here either. Works great. I love the single usb cable with no external power needed. And the convenience of not having to power off a drive when I finish playing.

Does the 1tb drive use a seperate Power supply ?
I don't want a drive with a seperate power supply and for the meantime I'm using 320gb WD passport drive but I don't mind upgrading as long as the drive runs on USB power reliably

It does have it's own power supply, or atleast mine does, I don't believe there is a 1tb (as of yet) that runs on USB power. The ones that run on USB power are 1.25 drives (alot smaller than the 3.5 we're used to)
Things to do when in doubt
    1. Use Search .
    2. Post Question in the right forum

    Question

So anyone know what the maximum size USB hard drive available that doesn't use it's own Power supply ?
