First install wad manager (If not got already) then search the internet for WiiShop Channel Update v17.

Hope this helps. If so please press the thanks button in the corner.

Yea. Its easy to get around that. First off the older wii shop channel used ios51. The new channel uses ios61. So youll need to install the ios61 and the new shop channel. You can find it on here. Try searching for "ios61 shop channel" or "ios61" or anything like that. Youll install both those via wad manager. Need help with that, simply post back.

    Wii Shop Channel

Question: Will this work on my soft-modded 4.0U Wii and get the new 4.2 Wii Shop channel?

    Im planning to use this:
Wii Shop IOS61 and Mii installer by tona, modified by WB3000, modified by Attila

    Ideas?

    Thank in advance!

The current Wii Shop Channel is now v18 so the v17 wad will not do.

@Callaris that should work. You could try this instead if you want:
Wii Shop and IOS61 installer - WiiBrew

    Thanks shadowsonic2.

I'm contemplating on either using the link you just posted or use WiiSCU instead.

Any thoughts? Or will it produce the same results?

I've heard some people having problems using WiiSCU to do the update also if you're on 4.0 or v4.1, you need to be careful with IOS60 in WiiSCU so just to stay safe, you should use Wii Shop and IOS61 Installer.

Got Wii Shop Channel to work mate! Thanks! Used your link.

    Last question:

Now that i've successfully updated the Wii SHop Channel, can I also update the Nintendo Channel? It asks for an update when I open it up.

    Again, Muchos Gracias!

    I'm one of those people..
I tried installing the new Shop channel with WiiSCU without any luck.. So I'm going to try the link you gave out earlier later today.. Hopefully it will work for me too.
