    Help! Stuck on preloader menu.

After looking on various sites online i eventually decided to follow the tutorial on Wii Softmodding Guide Some Random College Student's Blog I followed the instructions to the letter(although i did select upgrade homebrew when the option popped up). When i got to part.4. no.6 where it says to upgrade to 4.1 official update i saw on someone elses post that the official update is now 4.2 which would cause trouble with the hack. So i searched online for a 4.1 upgrade i could download and install. I found one uploaded by Waninkoko. I loaded this into the wii, which went fine and upgraded it to 4.2 e okay. After that i followed the rest of the instructions.

When i get to the part where you manually launch preloader to fix the corrupted screen it goes horribly wrong.
When i select "Launch the Homebrew channel" it comes up saying "Error autobooting HBC. maybe title not installed"
I've rebooted a few times but i still cannot get out of the preloader menu.
I've also tried to install the Homebrew channel again from the SD card, but when i click on Load install file it comes up saying "d! find any executable files in the root of the SD card.

Please Help Me, i'm in big trouble with the wife as she recently purchased a couple of fitness games for the Wii, and i decided to softmod our wii without checking with her first. Uh Oh

dont update to 4.2 its bad.

dont follow random crappy guides on random crappy websites, had you followed the guide on wiihacks, you wouldnt now be having problems.

you need to install an older version of HBC, as the new version uses a different TitleID, so that the 4.2 update does not kill it, the problem is that Preloader doesnt know this yet, and is still looking for the old TitleID.

Sounds like your SD card is not supported by Preloader. It only likes standard <2GB SD cards. You can't go wrong with Sandisk 2GB SD or MicroSD(with adapter).

Not sure about your HBC corruption.

If you can't launch System Menu then you'll need to install it again once you get your SD card.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I was in the same problem.....you think you are stuck in the preloader loop. Go to the Settings and the 2 top ones set to System Menu and SAVE. This way you will always go to the system menu and not directly to preloader. If you want to go to preloader then hold the reset button as you power on your Wii. So that gets you our of this loop.

As for the HBE not installed. I get the same issue. Someone posted here to install an older version. How do you revert back to the older version? Do I do the run twilight hack thing all over again?

All you have to do is find an older version of Hackmii installer and just install the HBC again .

Also please can you tell me where i can download a copy of the old homebrew channel and how i can install it as when i select Load install file it tells me my SD card doesn't have any executable files in the root.

I have several hackmii installers in my Mediafire, do click my signature, you will find them in the Apps folder. There's also a HBC.wad folder in the channels folder which can be a last resort.

Can't vouch for Kingston SD card but it's defo standard SD so should work. Maybe something is interfering with the hacks save for preloader?

You'll need to install IOS60 and System Menu 4.1 for your region. This would normally be done with Wad manager launched through HBC or through the Load File option.

If you installed the newer version of Home Brew Channel , Preloader will not recognize it becuase it has a different title id , preloader is still looking for HAXX , I believe the Title for HBC is JODI. So you would have to either install an older copy of HBC or do without launching HBC from preloader menu.

Sorry Tealc, I can't find the applications folder when i click your signature.
Also before i read your reply i managed to start loading the homebrew channel i installed originally, but when it gets to the warning screen and then option to press 1 appears my wiimotes lose connection and i cant sync them again until i restart back to preloader menu. Tried it a few times but same thing happens each time. I searched online about it and it says to use game cube controller (which i don't have) and also to try pressing reset button to select but that doesn't work.
Any ideas what to do please ?
