@Lord Eagle - yes it does.... You will have to download other apps and files though the guide I think has some links in it but it will require more downloading.

Thanks. I got the guide next day after several tries, coudnt find it anywhere else. Problem was at the servers end, too much server strain I guess.
Anyways my Wii is now softmodded and works like a dream. Rock band, rock band 2 and all intruments work perfectly as well as long as you connect them before you start the game. The game wont be able to detect them if connected after.

One other thing, I'd like to install the cmios for GC support, but I haven't seen anywhere if the latest cMios r3 is compatible with 4.2 or not, and I don't want to risk it...anyone knows?
If it's just the gamecube remote you want cmios for I'd let it simmer a little bit. I mean if you hit up google with cmios and 4.2 in the search there may be something being tested already. Just use BootMii to back up your Wii before throwing any beta's in ... If your feeling lucky =p

Just to follow up my own question, I've installed the cMios with the network option, and works like a charm
Hey guys I am having a problem and I hope you can help. I have 4.2u if that helps, also i haven't downloaded the wad manager 1.5 yet. Ive been using this and the Amarokz guide and I am stuck at the dop-ios part. And yes, I installed cios 38 first just like the original poster said (i had to use the wad file method though). When I try and install and the sig hash, it doesn't work and I cant finish this step. The message i get is something along the lines of "I can't find this file on the sd card. 00000001-00000035 v5149" then it tries to connect to the internet to find it, but i waited a while and nothing happened. Can somebody help me with this?
Hello, I feel Like a proper noob, which I suppose I am. I spend around 18 hours yesterday going through a stupid ammount of websites and guides to help me out, then found this one. It seems to be the answer to all my problems.... but I'm stuck right at the beggining.
I have (or had) a virgin 4.2E and managed to do the first part in the guide as well as following the wiibrew guide. I'm sure I have followed everything word by word.
I have installed the HBC as well as DVDx but it will not let me install bootmii as boot2 OR bootmii as IOS. So I can't go any further.
Please help me before I throw my wii out of the window.
Have you had any luck uninstalling and re-installing ios249? The block may be blocking you from installing BootMii as an Ios. Big N put an iosstub in the place of ios249 since thats where all the good mods go. Also some of the newer Wii's will not accept BootMii as Boot2. I havent heard or seen any work around for that, but you may have to forge ahead without BootMii since if it won't load into Boot2 it does you no good anyway. BootMii as an ios will not save you form many bricks. Good luck and post your progress.
