"Dump is for a different wii"

Ugh. When I try to restore a dump from my sdcard, it says "dump is for a different wii"

It was from the very same wii, too.

Any suggestions? I'm not that experienced with hex editors... some person said you need a hex editor to change something with the nand.bin

I'm not very sure why it did this either and I am not bricked so it's not VERY urgent... would just like some help.

    Thanks.

The new hackmii reported that it took care of this problem. Your problem was due to a bug in hackmii3-you should have a NAND.bin and a key.bin-they should be one file, bug separated them and also there is a space error that can be corrected by a hex editor. If you are not bricked, your system is good, you can try the new hackmii to install bootmii and make another NAND backup. Yes, but the dump was sort of an important one... like after some hacks

Anyway to make the file work? Or do I just gotta make a new dump and forget about it?

Yes, you can make it work, but it sounded like you didn't want to do it. You do need to use a hex editor and I believe another app to join the NAND and key bin files. You probably saw the techniques during your Google searching. So, it's up to you, there doesn't seem to be an easy fix, but there is a way to fix it-you saw it already.
