Limitations of MPlayer with DVDs

Hello,

I apologize in advance if this thread was already posted elsewhere, I am quite the beginner hacker so I couldn't find anything with my limited tech vocabulary. I couldn't really find any answers on the web in general which is why I'm here...

Anyway, I got a Wii primarily to use as a dvd player that could be hidden behind my flatscreen, and of course sometimes its fun to play games. So, I've spent the last week figuring out how to install Mplayer to my Wii via Homebrew only to discover that I can't play the special features menus. Am I right about this? I like to watch special features and director's commentary often so does this mean all my effort was for nothing? Please let me know if there are any workarounds or an alternative media player for Wii. Many many thanks in advance

PS, remember that I am a 'newbie' so try to use layman's terms for me :o
