    Hackmii Installer

Hi everyone, this is my first post. Recently I did the the softmod on a 4.1E with the trucha bug restorer. Everything was working fine except i've never been able to play downloaded games. keep getting disc errors. I had the preloder running fine but the other day the kids were using it and I dont know what they have done but now when you turn the wii on, you get the scam message then instead of the preload menu, it goes to the hackmii installer v0.3 which says "This Hackmii installer cannot continue. No known vulnerable ios is installed. Will not run under any fakesigned IOS for security reasons blah blah blah. Can i just go through the installations from scratch again including downgrades or is there another way to bypass this. When exiting it goes to the homebrew channel with no probs and i can exit from homebrew to the wii menu ok. Before when exiting anygame it would go to the preload menu, but now it goes back to the wii menu which is ok. Its only when it gets turned on it goes straight to the hackmii installer.
    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like this. cIOSCORP has been installed and probably improperly at that. You need to uninstall cIOSCORP, details will be in the readme of the package.

Thanks but no help yet, I had a look earlier from your suggestion but the readme.txt I have only says how to install the complete homebrew with ios etc. and not uninstall the cIOSCORP. I read somewhere about uninsatall app but few have tried it and havent been able to find the app as yet. I'll have another look tomorrow. I just don't want to brick it as its not very old, we've only had a month or so and i'll be running for me life from the missus. lol. Also will the uninstall remove all IOS? Removing IOS0 is not good I read. Is this true?
    Thanks again.

I meant the cioscorp installer package. You must have one if you installed it.

If you can't find it then look for uncioscorp or actually download the cioscorp package to find further detail.

I stay well clear of this nasty application.

uncioscorp does not 'remove' IOS, it will simply update the 30 or so IOS to the official versions.

Thanks once again, I noticed a few people now avoid it. I guess you could put it down to experience myself a noob at this but carefull at the same time. I'll have to have another look. I'll let you know how i go. BTW, without a NAND back up as I couldn't do one, is there a way to put it back and start all over again with another hack of some sort?
    cheers.

Not really cIOSCORP is pure evil. Even if you removed all your softmods you'd still have it installed to all your IOS.

There's a few posts on here about Uninstalling cioscorp which may help you. Use the search feature asd I don't have the links to hand.

The version I have cIOSCORP 3.3, I'm wondering upgrading to 3.4 would help ??? Your thoughts?

Possibly. 3.4 comes with an uninstall package (apparently)

Hi, well i've sorted it out. I upgraded it to 3.4 but that came up with an error on one of the wads during installation. I turned it off and back on again holding the reset this time which gave me the preloader menu. When I checked the settings in that, my youngest lad must have changed it to autoboot to file. I'm guessing that is what was causing the error. It was looking for file that didn't exist. I changed it to autoboot to sysmenu and now when I turn it on, it loads straight to the wii menu, cool !! DAMN KIDS !! Now I just have to wok on the downloaded games and try and get them to work.
    Thanks for your help.
    cheers.
