I deliberatly tried to brick the wii

Hi all, some of you may remember that I put a post up not too long ago about using a regional disk to update your wii and if that would brick your wii..

My brother in law has a wii that he never plays on, So I put boot mii on ( as boot 2 ) and gamma.

His wii is 3.1 I put a copy of big beach sports in ( just goes to show you its never had an update )

anyway it asked to update the wii and I said OK, When I did a reset the screen went blue for about 4 seconds and then all loads up ok, even the back up loader chanel ... anyway I decided to restart my nand file to get rid of this blue screen and it worked , But the strange think is when I put Big beach sports in the wii it does not ask for an update So what I am asking is how come the wii has not asked for the update as I put the update on after making the nand file

    Thanks

All i can think of is, the NAND backup does not restore all files on the Wii just ones that it finds has changed between current state and time of NAND backup, so for some reason it is obviously not reading the update as something within the system that has changed, but i personally don't know why, maybe someone can shed some light on this???
