Why did hacking my Wii break the shop channel?

Maybe you did a FW upgrade or overwrote the IOS?

Reinstall from here: wii shop 4 patched.rar

As far as I know I installed IOS16 and cIOS249 and no FW upgrade still on 3.3e.

Oh and cMIOS rev3 but uninstalled it.

And is that download for a pal Wii?

Any more ideas Guy's, I'd really like to try and understand what stopped it from working. I get error 209601 eventually and I've tried changing the router channel to 1 & 11.

The Shopping Channel download is not country code dependent. Because you tried changing your router channels to 1and 11, I presume you know that the error code is not a Homebrew or softmod error code, but a Nintendo code indicating that the Wii can't connect to your router. After checking the two Nintendo-recommended channels, it is recommended you log onto your router and check the security settings, especially MAC filtering.

You aren't using a USB LAN adaptor on the Wii are you? If so, change the USB port.

I'm not using a USB LAN.

I can connect to the Internet through the Wii and I can also view the weather and news channels so thought I'd broke something when I hacked it.

Maybe something wrong with N's servers.

If I can use the other channels and use the browser I thought I would be able to use the shop channel?
