    fork in the road :S

    Hi,

I have read quite a few threads that are relevant to my needs but in doing so i am conflicting information. I have an LE numbered wii which i soft modded succesfully and had HBC and gamma 7 and DVDx ( i think i installed it but i couldnt ever see what it done) and played back ups on no problem as yet but that wasnt good enough so i started playing with emulators which was also fine but that wasnt good enough either, i decided i wanted them as channels, now for some reason unbeknown to me i decided to update the console via the wii system menu and this is where my troubles have started...i believe that i need to be able to install wads to get say snes emulater as a channel but where i have updated i can no longer do that...correct ?? also trying to install DVDx gives errors....

Now i have ceased all activity and came upon this site and saw that i could return it to virgin and then go from the start but i am not sure what guide i should really follow, i thought maybe i should follow the guide that takes it back to virgin state but i dont think i have preloader installed and it doesnt what to do if you dont, im quite competant in what i am doing but i just need a bit of guidance as to what i should follow and in what order.

    Thanks for your time

Don't return it to a virgin state, that's not a good idea, you'll still be stuck installing wads.

Newer Nintendo System Menus have patched the Trcuha Bug, effectively disabling wad installs. We can, however restore the Trucha Bug by following a process called..

Thanks for the response, i did see that thread but wasnt sure whether it was relevant to me, i have actually started the virgin process i have so far done NAND clean and now have started any title deleter, which seems to through out a few errors but gets to the menu in the end, the guide seems to say delete any IOS over 200 but all i can seem to do is select which IOS to use...is it to late to stop and try the link you just posted instead...i think i am slowly falling towards a brick !!!

Depends what you've removed from your Wii so far.

basically i ran NAND cleaner and said ok to everything it wanted to delete, i then went onto any title deleter and set IOS36 and continued however it will not let me delete any IOS greater than 200 as requested in the guide so i went onto next stage to delete any channels i installled, when i goto delete channells the is the homebrew channel and one unkown i have NOT deleted them as yet and await your advise.

So you've just removed preloader and DVDx perhaps.

As long as you still have Homebrew Channel it hould be no problem to stop and change your method to TBR.

That's never a good idea unless you are a forum donator.
