Ca Had problems with installation and want to know if my Wii will be alright

    Hi all.

I softmodded my Wii using another guide . It went fine until Preloader. It install correctly but i couldn't load the Wii Menu only the HBC. It kept booting into Preloader. When I choose system menu i got a black screen and that was it. I also couldn't load the Wad manager. I was able to play back-up games.

I had to use Anyreagon Changer to get rid of PL. I also had to use this site Wad Manager to install the wads. I installed all the wads on this site guide.

I can play through the backup loader now. But I do not have Preloader installed. When I tried to use the Nand to fix the preloader, the system told me that the dump was from another Wii. I got the NAND from the same Wii. I then created another nand right there and try to dump the after and it stills tell me that the dump is for another wii. Should I be concerned?

I have been wondering if I should just reinstall everything again to see if I can get Preloader and the NAND to work. I want to try to reinstall Preloader if it is important.

Did I hurt my wii err the mechanical one and will it be okay?

Thanks for understanding. I know my spelling is bad.

    P.S. I patch the drive and Installed Cios 38 V.14 .

You don't really need preloader. As for your NAND issue it is simple to fix. If you want to email them to me i can fix them for you. (there is a bug in the newest bootmii that can be fixed with a hex editor)

May I ask why you want preloader?

In case that Nintendo brick the Wii. I read that you need it when your Wii bricks. Thank you for your offer. Do i send the recent NAND file to which e-mail address can i ask.

Do you know any e-mail service that allows you to send 500 MB over the Internet? Hotmail nor Yahoo Mail allows me to send 500 MB files over the internet. I would greatly appreciate it.

Forgot to ask if my Wii is okay.

Seems to me that your Wii is fine.

Im not too sure why preloader is not working for you maybe it isn't the proper version for your system menu.

As for emailing the nand you are correct 500mb are not easily transferred over the net.

How good are you with hex editing?

Whats hex editing? Does that have to do with D&D?

I used Preloader c29 the final version. My Wii is version 4.1U.

Not sure why its not working for you... Maybe you do not have a patched IOS60. If thats the case follow Tealc99's post Here

Hex editing has nothing to do with D&D, however having played D&D I understand where you are coming from.

You would need a hex editor, i recommend 010 Editor (google it)

And I will post a guide for you in a minute if you think you can do this yourself

Here is the guide if you want to attempt this yourself.

    1. Open Key.bin in a hex editor look for the Word ConsoleID if you notice in the hex editor theres no space between console and ID there should be and sense theres not you will need to add this Space<br>To add a Space between Console and ID just put 20 in hex which is a Blank Space between Console and ID, without over writing any data and without moving all the data forward except the chunk your working on and hit save Now highlight and copy all of the 1024bits of the key.bin

Before and After Pics of the Key.bin

    Before

    After The Fix

    2. Now Open up Nand.bin in the hex editor scroll down to the every end and hit paste, to copy all of the 1024bits of the key.bin. to the end of the Nand.bin and hit save

    3. Now your Dump is usable

I installed ISO60 patch after trying to dump the NAND. I will back it up again and is there a way to see if it works without dumping it to the wii? Will the new NAND erase the ISO patches?

Thank you for the instructions. I will try the editor tomorrow when I am more awake.
