HackMii Installer Won't work after semi bricking

Ok, so to explain my situation, I initially had the HBC installed ok and the preloader. I followed a tutorial and when i ran CIOSCORP installer, it installed a bunch of CIOS files on my WII which in turn, semi bricked it. I could then only access the preloader screen and the system menu was apparently corrupt. I downloaded a new system menu wad file and installed it on my wii (v3.4e). This resolved the issue and I could then get back into the wii system menu. I then decided to try and start from scratch, so I stupidly deleted the HBC.

Anyways, I tried to run off the most current tutorial on wiihacks to perform the soft mod, as the last tutorial I followed did not work out so well. Anyways, upon formatting my SD card and extracting the wii_softmod_pack.rar to it, I then tried to reinstall the HBC through the standard procedure. It prompts with the load boot.elf and then after it has stated the disclaimer about being scammed if money has been exchanged for the software, it comes up with

    HackMii Installer v0.2

    This Installer can NOT continue.

There is no known vunerable IOS installed on this Wii.

Anyways, I tried to 'virginise' my Wii and do a system update to get to v4.0. When i run the system update, it claims my Wii has no system updates available.

Not too sure where to go from here? Is this wii now officially non soft moddable?

    Thanks in advance

    Jexter

cIOScorp messes up Wiis. You've found out the hard way.

Try Waninkoko's update to 4.1 and see if it removes cIOScorp for you.

    Hmm. Tricky.

I don't suppose you have bootmii installed as boot2 do you?

Other option would be savemiifrii using a GC controller and an autobooting disc, which could allow you to load Wad manager, from there you could install a new system menu and potentially all your cIOScorp IOS with proper versions. Bit of a gamble though, not even sure if this would work. I stay clear of cIOScorp as it's dangerous, especially for someone who installs it without boot2 NAND backup protection.

I'm not too sure ... its possible. I can't remember what instructions I followed from the guide I used in the first place (not from this site). How would I be able to tell if bootmi is installed as boot2?\

What do you mean by an autobooting disc? I strangely enough have a GC sitting in the cupboard here

Thanks Tealc, appreciate you going to the trouble of helping me.

Maybe. Worth a try for sure.

If you installed bootmii as boot2 you'd probably remember but just in case.

When you install bootmii (it comes with hackmii installer) it normally gives you the options HBC, bootmii and DVDx. If you installed bootmii you'd have been asked to format your SD card and then when your Wii rebooted would have been presented with the bootmii screen. In addition the Wii disc light flashes in a certain way.

Does your SD card have a bootmii folder?

Anyway good luck with hackmii installer 1.0.1, it may be old enough not to detect your cIOScorp mess. The hackmii guys don't like cIOScorp or pirates, for some reason

You sure you removed cIOSCorp? Try installing bootmii as a boot2 and lets see what it says.

Yeah it doesn't seem like cIOSCorp is completely removed, but most other stuff has worked ok so i'm not too fussed (at the moment) about removing in. Unless you know of something else it might hinder? Do you have any tips on completely removing it?

    Thanks in advance
