My wii is 4.1u, LU55, and works great. Preloader .29, etc. I have no bootmii, and no copy of my NAND, as I was not the original modder of this wii. I was wondering if there was any way to:
    --Install bootmii on my wii
--Make a backup copy of my NAND
    ?????????????

    Any tips would be appreciated

Not sure if you will be able to install bootmii as boot2 as only wiis with a vulnerable boot1 can install it meaning wii made before around September 2008 but if you can run the hackmii installer via the bannerbomb method.

You can also boot the hackmii installer by renaming it and loading as per normal HBC applications. i.e boot.dol or boot.elf
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

rename it to what? just create a foler in the apps on sd and insert files in it and run thru HBC?

Also, do i need a seperate SD card when it says "Prepare SD card?"? I dont want to lose all the files that are on my sd already

It's worth having a second SD card (I use 3, 1 for day to day, 1 for video and 1 spare just in case I can't be arsed to walk over to the Wii in the other room)

Rename it to boot.dol. I've tried this and it works. Bung it in the apps folder in a folder with a name of your choosing.

You can use your existing SD card of course, just make sure you get all your files off there and onto your PC beforehand. Bootmii will create a folder with 3 files on the card and when you reboot, if it installed as boot2, you'll have the bootmii screen loaded in Mini. You can then dump a NAND.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Then, after i dump the nand, i can put all my old files back onto the sd card? im assuming AFTER i copy the NEW contents of the SD card to a safe location on my pc. Correct?

Yes after you make the NAND dump move the bootmii folder and the nand dump to a safe place on your pc.
