    ftpii password driving me mad!

    Hello all,

Thanks to this fantastic forum I have managed to do lots of fantastic things with my Wii that I did not think was possible.

However ftpii is driving me mad. I have read several tutorials and googled endlessly but can't solve my problem. When ever I try to connect I am asked for a password, even though all the guides say you do not need one. When I try to connect this is what appears on screen:

    Accepted connection from 192.168 etc
    Wrote reply: 220 ftpi
    Got command: user anonymous
Wrote reply: 331 user name ok, need password
    Got command: pass
    Wrote reply: 530 login incorrect
    Client disconnected

I am using the latest version downloaded from Homebrew Browser - I have tried to connect using FileZilla and windows explorer but always get the same result.

    FileZilla gives the following messages:

    Status: Connecting to 192.168.1.100:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
    Response: 220 ftpii
    Command: USER anonymous
Response: 331 User name okay, need password.
    Command: PASS **************
    Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Could not connect to server

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Ian

as ftpii is just acting as a server for your Wii, it's just connecting to your Wii:
    1. did you enable that child protection option on your Wii i.e. did you set a password up on your Wii?

    2. Unlikely, but could it be your WEP/WPA password? I don;t think that's so, because I think ftpii is connecting to the Wii.

I do have a password set on the Wii, I will kick myself if that is what has caused the problems! Can't try at the moment because the wife is watching the TV. I will try later - thanks for your thoughts, I will let you know how I get on.

Ahhh, I thought that was the problem. How hard will you be kicking yourself? LOL.

So, you spent hours and hours and probably were pulling at your hair too. That's what you get for not trusting your kids and locking them out of your Wii (haha).

The most annoying thing is that I have spent ages trying to sort it out and now that I have a possible solution I can't try it out!
