ok so brand new outta the box...

plugged it into wii.... tried to format it to wbfs using usb loader gx.... it said format complete... i hit ok.... then the wii hangs and the screen goes black/green....

plugged it into computer tried to open it in wbfs manager 2.0 to put some games onto it... it said the thing wasnt formatted to wbfs.... so i clicked format and it says there is an error when trying to format....

bottom line it doesnt seem to want to format when i use the pc
when i format using usb loader gx it says its complete but then the wii goes green screen

    What do I do?

    thanks for any help

Although I dicked around with my 1TB a few months ago and got it to work... I saw this write up the other day. I found one of the keys was the original fat32 formating. The following sums it up pretty good. It talks about fat and wbfs partitions... but the method is the same... even if you plan on just having a wbfs partition only.

    Hi solved it myself

    rev7 with warning.rar

use that instead of wbfs manager and it works fine (only works on vista)

I just used a partition manager to set it all up, then fired up WBFS manager and away I went.
