So that would affect it even if I were running it from an external HDD?

Regardless, I'm going to go try it now. This is the only game I have issues with, so even if I can get it running from the disc only I'll be more than satisfied.

Yes because the USB Loader tricks the wii in to thinking it is a disc. And it will be the only game you have an issue with as there are only 2 dual layer wii games... SSMB and Metroid Prime Trilogy

Sweet. It worked with the DVD+R DL that I had burned it on previously.

The copy I dumped to the HDD was from the retail disc. I'll rip it again now that i've got rev13 on.

    Thanks a lot!

UPDATE:..aaaaaaannnnnd I'm golden! Works from Disc & HDD after installing rev13

I have same problem as you. Ripped my own copy to hard drive and it won't work (black screen after I beat kirby). Currently running rev14, if I downgrade to 13a will this cause a problem with anything else? What are the all differences from 13a to 14?

That solved it for me. After I downgraded to rev13, the backup disc I had burned worked perfectly.

The copy I had dumped from the retail disc to my external HDD though didn't because I had dumped it while I had rev14. So to solve that problem I just had to dump it again after downgrading.

I've played through about 20% or so of SSE since with no problems.

As for the differences, I'm not sure. I didn't take the time to look it up. The only thing I've noticed function wise though is that NeoGamma Backup Loader gave me a message saying that it was designed for use with rev14, but gave me the option of using it anyway and it still worked fine.
