    ERROR! (ret = -1022)

Alright, I've seen a lot of threads on this, but in most threads, they don't specify the model number or anything. So, I wanted to create a thread to make sure I wouldn't brick my Wii.

Ok, so I'm wanting to install a .wad, but every time I try I get ERROR! (ret = -1022). I understand that it probably has to do with my cIOS version, but I want to make sure that installing a new cIOS won't brick my Wii.

This is the guide I used, and I haven't installed anything else except the mIOS for GC Backup playing, and the GC Backup Launcher. Does anyone know of what I should do to fix this?

My system is an LU64, and the systemmenu version is 4.0u. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've been researching this error a lot the past couple of days and am having no luck. I can google for ERROR! (ret = -1022), and find nothing. It seems this is a rare occurence...

If it helps any, the .wad I'm trying to install in Majora's Mask. Also, I didn't have any problems with a different game .wad install.

    This is very common.
The problem here is that you are trying to install a wad or file that is already installed.
PLEASE SEARCH, READ, AND THINK BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.

Its got nothing to do with cios or trucha bug or anything. I have a trucha enabled ios 36, and ios 249 installed and I have the same problem. While most say it has something to do with the channel already being installed, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but had no luck. I also never installed Super Mario World before, so I have no idea what's causing it.
