usb loader gx exception (dsi) occurred

Hi- Im trying to get my friends wii back in order
his son updated to ver 4.0u while playing lego star wars (I think) and now his usb loader gx goes to a black screen with a bunch of code.

    here is what i know:

    the homebrew channel still loads
the serial number on the wii starts with LU36
an app on the homebrew channel says the wii is now running ios 36 rev 1042

how do we get that loader to work again? there's a lot of info here and on other forums on downgrading from 4.0u, or updating to a newer cios (since it doesnt look like his is custom anymore) but i don't want to brick the wii, so i thought i would ask here. appologies if this question has already been answered!

I am not sure how it was originally hacked, but i have got my psp to run custom firmware so I think i can do this with a little help

try just update or downgrade usb loader gx and all should work fine. like 5 updates are released each week.

I dont know if I did this right-
ive tried updating usbloader gx by loading a new .dol file and new .wad file onto the sd card and going into the wad manager, i run the usbloadergx-uneoforwarder.wad, says successful. it still gets the black screen (right when trying to start usbloadergx)

is there a way to delete the usbloader completly and start from scratch? and if so how do i know if I am on the right cios?

Red face USB Loader GX v1.0 - problems !

Hi all, thought I would let u know that I to am havin probs with loading USB Loader GX, this is my 1st time..... lol, anyway I have followed all tuts on SD cards & how 2 set it up, install into the Wii, go 2 Homebrew channel (which was easy 2 install) check the menu, I have 9 apps, most apps work fine, but for USB loader, (any) dump app. Custom IOS installer 2.0 loads from the network or .WAD file no problem until it gets on "Installing Custom IOS, Please wait... >> Install ERROR! (ret = -2011)
But the app (utility) which I reay want is the USB Loader GX, I would like 2 run games of the USB HD......... but cannot load this, I have been on this for days......................... help.

    Wii, Ver. 4.1E, solderles D2SUN v1.3a

SD: apps/boot.dol for preloader.elf............. the USB Loader GX v1.0 flashed on the screen for about 2 seconds then it went back to the main menu on HBC......... what gives ? can anyone help ???

I had the same error - exception (dsi) occurred! - i found that usb loader gx gave me this error because i took out the sd card. i put it back in and it worked like it did at first. does this sound about right to anyone?
