    Wii Decisions

I have a Wii with firmware 3.2U, and I think I want to upgrade to 4.1 to get the latest channels and stuff like that.

I heard that you can't install cIOS with latest firmware. Is this true?

Will there be a way to play games from a different region with 4.1? I use Freeloader to boot my Japanese games with 3.2U, but I know that won't work with 4.1.

I'm interested in USB Loaders, and I downloaded USB Loader GX. Is there any way to install this as a channel?

Well if you going to update use wanikoko's 4.1 updater because it onlu updates the essentials.

no that is old news you can install cIOS on 4.1 just look for dogeggs "how to get cios on ANY WII" tutorial in the forms.

And finally yes you can i'm sure there is one online or you can make your own by using dogeggs wad tutorial also on the forms.

Hope that awnsered all you questions

    This time i made sure....

    Isn't Waninkoko's updater not safe?
Will I be able to undo it with BootMii?

If you update to 4.1 don't change your mind and go back to 3.2, view this thread.

That's a good idea, nand backup, sorry I don't have it, no brick protection (I like living on the edge)

Thank you guys. I've hared on the Wiibrew forums that a complete downgrade is impossible. I'll just update with Waninkoko's 4.1 updater.

I updated my wii a while ago to 4.0 from 3.2u and after a while i decided i want to stay on 3.2u and just downgraded and no bricks here.I used Waninkoks 4.0 updater by the way.
And also yesterday i did the cios downgrader again cause i wanted to get rid of cioscorp and everything went fine as well.

Does this mean that i have now the stub IOS51 on my wii now?
Im definetely not messing with anything on my wii anymore, can't afford a brick cause my 6 year old daughter will have a meltdown.

If you went to the link in my post #5, then you will see that people that have upgraded firmware to 4.x then downgraded to 3.2 were fine -------until------they accepted a disc update to firmware 3.4 then bam, they get a brick. My Wii never see a disc update, ever. I never play an original disc and all my games are installed to HDD and are scrubbed in the process. But my firmware has never been above 3.2 so I don't worry about that.

SilentDan - you best get brick protection, but not for you, get for the little one.
