Wii boots to a nice black screen only

I was working on doing the softmod, I went into wad manager and uninstalled some Wad's. I cannot remember which ones, now my Wii only comes up to a black screen no matter what I try.

Can anyone please help or am I just screwed?

If you uninstalled cIOS/IOS below 200, and that black screen doesn't show what version wii you have and you dont have preloader, or Bootmii Boot 2 installed then it sounds like full brick.
Choices send back to Nintendo and pay through nose, or use as spare parts.

You did something like deleting all the files in your Windows folder on your PC.

Why use Wad manager to indiscriminately delete system files anyway? Did you have a problem?

You could try savemiifrii to boot a recovery disc, you might be lucky enough not have deleted the IOS required for that.

OK, I will give it a shot, can you point me in the right direction? Where do I get savemiifrii and the recovery disc? Is there a tutorial?

I did not know what I was doing! I feel like such a moron!

Just do a search and you will find tute for it, is basically removing cover off gamecube controller so you can push direction controller in all directions at once.

The unbricking guide here explains http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...ner-brick.html

At what point is the wii completely unrecoverable? Is it worth my effort to even try this without a mod chip? I am really frustrated!!!!

My advice would be to hold off on buying the mod chip until you can verify that you can get the recovery screen up on your Wii.

The link that Cressida graciously provided will show you what you need to do.

OK, if I send the Wii back to nintendo for repair what will they say about it possibly still have some remnants of the soft mod on it? Will I just cause myself more grief?

They'll just charge you more for the repair, enough more that it's almost worth buying a new one. Nintendo don't care much for homebrew for some strange reason.

Ok, well let me ask this then:

My unit is about as bricked as a unit can get. I get no text, no sound, NOTHING! Just a black screen.

What could they actully detect? Will they just do a system restore and it will be gone?

Will there really be any remnants since it will not do anything, after all I unistalled all the wad files.......DUH! I am not sending the SD card either.

    Any thoughts on that?
