Well to be quite honest we don't really know what Nintendo can discover on any given Wii. If it's completely wrecked then you can take your chances, what's the worst that can happen? I bet they have some pretty cool diagnostic hardware and software that can completely dump the NAND and run it on a PC or something and find out exactly what went wrong, or they might just bin it and send you a refurb.
Haven't seen any reports myself on this black screen full brick and them going in for repair and what actually was discovered and charged. Maybe there are some in the forums somewhere.
Obviously take out the SD card
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
Well I could always act stuipd!! It was like that when I bought it.....I never knew what that stuff did..............
Just send it in, and say that it won't turn on no matter what. If they ask too many questions you could claim that the power went out during an update.
During a repairs though a lot of times when a system can't be fixed they are still able to copy over all the channels/vc and saves to a refurbished system. In that case they might see you have HBC or whatever and charge you up the ass. You won't get in trouble though.
Thanks for the response ZeldaFreak! I will let everyone know what happens. I have sent it in.....
