Cios' and usbdrive on chipped wii.....

    Hello,
I have a few questions that should clear everything up for me (and hopefully others) on what needs to be done post-chip installation.

    1) After I install a chip on my 3.4wii, do i need to install any CIOS or IOS?

    2) If i wish to install homebrew, emulators, ect, do I need to install any CIOS, IOS with a chipped wii? I would really like to use the USBHarddrive modification, are any IOS or CIOS needed for this?

    3) I see that there are anti-bricking apps and CIOS, are these needed for a chipped Wii, or does this only apply to soft modded wiis?

    4) Lastly, if i were to upgrade to 4.0 after all of the above has been complete, am i able to do it through Nintendos update?

    Thanks for all the help!!!

To use an usbloader with a chiped Wii.

There are many ways to do this, But this is the way I have done it..

    Install as follows;

    HBC

    Wad manager

    cIOS38rev14

    IOS 38, 53, and 55

Usbloader of your choose… (USBLoader GX)

    Bootmii for brick blocking

If you wish to upgrade to 4.0 or 4.1 use
Wininkoko’s upgrader. Then install IOS60 patcher.

The rest is up to you on how to istall all of this.
So please do some reading before you do anything.
PLEASE SEARCH, READ, AND THINK BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.

    Don't forget the thanks button...

    from another thread:

ios 36: a special made IOS, which is only to support homebrew apps, like gamma.
Cios 37: firmware spoof, to give 3.2, all that 3.3 has, used to fix a lot of games like wiiware titles.
Cios 249: a special made IOS, used by gamma users, to fix various issues.
IOS 38: A IOS, originally from Animal crossing, and is needed to run, it adds wiispeak support.
IOS 53: A IOS, originally from need for speed, which adds support for 3rd party, usb wheels.
IOS 55: A IOS, originally from need for speed, its assumed *by me* to add, additional 3d support, it is needed to run this game, and several others.
IOS 50/51: used for the shop channel, and can be used to patch the fake sign bug fix.

If I really dont care to play need for speed, or animal crossings, or use the shop channel..... do i need any of these?
