What sets "Freethebug"-releases apart from official IOSs?

I've spent days reading on this forum and I think I know exactly what to do in my softmodding quest. Except this little thing: I can't find anywhere what "Freethebug" IOSs actually are. What sets them apart from the regular IOSs? The "freethebug" releases are often recommended, but i.e. Admiral Victorinox have the regular versions for download in one of his threads (http://www.wiihacks.com/homebrew-dow...3-55-a-14.html). I would just like to know what sets them apart, so that I can make an informed decision. I'm sure Dogeggs (who provides the freethebug IOSs for download) can answer this, but I just hope anyone will chip in, if they know the answer.
    Thanks.

Thanks. You wouldn't happen to have a link to that program; freethebugs? Just out of curiosity.
