    Bit of advise needed to get started

    Hi.

    Just got a Wii and have been reading guides and various forums for about a week trying to figure out what to do and what everything means.

    My Wii is a 4.1E, so what is the best method for getting HBC and then get playing back-ups, probably from burned disc rather than from USB as I don’t currently have an external HDD. I’ve read the various guides on the ►RECOMMENDED FAQ's, GUIDES & TUTORIALS ONLY ◄ part of the forum, but which one do I use as they all seem a little different o each other.

    i.e. do I use the “How to get Homebrew Channel on virgin 4.0 Wii!” and then the guide linked within that guide called “New 3.1-3.4 Downgrade-Preloader-Gamma” or do I just use “Wii Softmods for Dummies 4.1”.

    Thanks in advance.

    I would stick with the guides for 4.0 / 4.1 since thats the system you are on.

    It really is personal choice as to if you downgrade or stay on 4.1E;
    It would be easier to use http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-any-wii.html
    this will allow you to stay on 4.1E.
    Which ever way you chose I recommend that as soon as you have done it install Preloader 0.29 and Bootmii, these will help prevent/recover you bricking your wii.

    If you wish to downgrade you can use either of the tutes they are all tried and tested.

    STAND READY TO DO VIOLENCE ON THEIR BEHALF IF THEY DON'T INSTALL IOS 38, 53, 55.
