Question Upgrading from 3.0E to 3.2 without internet or game

The kids have the wii in the playroom.

There is no internet in there or any easy way to get it there.

I really would like to at least get the system menu to 3.2 for the sake of upgrades.

But it appears that any and all of the ways to upgrade/downgrade seem to require the internet. Everything from the CIOS downgrader to the AnyRegion Changer seems to need it.

Is there any way to do this (easy or hard) that will not require internet on the wii?

I have hunted the forums from site to site and see nothing about this - I know I am not the only person with this problem but for some reason I cannot find it in any of the threads and tutorials.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

You could install 3.2 System Menu wad using wad manager. Unsure what possible benefit you'd get from that though.

Getting hold of the correct system menu wad is critical though.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I would take it someone that has internet connection before I would trust a offline install,
I have known of people getting full unrecoverable bricks, (you are relying on every file to be perfect on the Disc). Something as innocent as a scratch during firmware changes is critical.

I know how to DOWNGRADE to 3.2 offline, and i'm pretty sure the same method will work for upgrading. No guarantee though, so dont blame me if your wii gets bricked (ugrading unofficially is pretty risky)

install IOS30-64-v140.wad and SystemMenu-v289.wad (google them)

INSTALL IOS30 FIRST!!!! OR ELSE YOU WILL GET A BRICK!!!

    Smile Resolved it! I hope?

Thank you all much for the feedback and help.

Since I have a modchip, I first tried to protect myself as much as possible from bricking the thing.

So I used BootMii and installed it on Boot2 and made a copy of the (NAND?) using the same.

I then downloaded a copy of the NTSC Semi-Brick fix disc.

Using Wiiscrubber I extracted the wads for both the ISO30 and System Menu update (v289?) and installed them using Wad Manager 1.4.

I am hopeful that it worked since I do show my system menu now at 3.2. Whether that fixes the issue of whether certain games will work on a chipped Wii will be found out later.

But so far, the loaders seem to load the new games and I will be trying to get a USB drive formatted using the WBFS Manager so that I can use USB Loader GX to load games from the HD.

I have no idea what I am doing, I just started researching this stuff last week but hopefully this will allow me to load straight from the HD like I used to be able to do with the old modded Xboxes that let you dump all your games on the HD and easily load them.

Any feedback or comments about anything I missed, should be aware of, or might be completely on my way to destroying - I would welcome.

I am just getting my feet wet here and while the tutorials and FAQs are amazingly helpful, many of the apps seem to really be built for people that have internet access on their wii.

Thus far transferring SD cards back and forth has seemed to work though.
