    Few homebrew questions

    HEllo Everyone,

I just started getting into this modding. Actually, Just yesterday my friend told me about it. I dusted off my Wii and got to work. Today, Ive installed homebrew, along with some apps (emulators, WiiEarth, dvdx and a few others) and backed up all my Wii titles to my External Harddrive with Waninkoko's USB Loader v1.5! I'm catching on to this quickly, but just have a few questions. And I did it all so far without any help (other than from the authors of a few helpful tutorials).

I have not connected my Wii to the internet in a long time, so I still have ver3.2U, and I don't know if connecting is a good idea. I would like to use "homebrew browser", and some other online Wii features. My questions are, Can I connect my Wii to the network without conflicts? Should I connect it to the internet? If I do connect it to the internet, will my system automatically update my Wii to the newest version? Will updating my Wii cause any of my mods/apps to no longer work? Will it cause my Wii to BRICK? If so, is it possible to dodge the update and still be online?

I heard WAD files can be detected and are risky to have. Can someone explain this better to me, or send me a link to an explaination. Can I remove the WAD files now that they are put on there? Should I? If I connect to the network can I avoid all of the WAD risk?

Another part I am curious about is some of the Wii's media player abilities. My harddrive is set right now with a 100gig WBFS partition (for Wii disk backups), a 200gig NTFS, and 2gigs FAT (for emulator ROMS).
My questions are, Is there any way my Wii can access any media files (music/movies, .avi, .mp3, VIDEO_TS, or anything like that) from my NTFS drive?

If that is not possible, perhaps I can do that with my FAT partition? I am led to believe FAT partitions are only capable of holding 4Gbs of data, SO... Is it possible to make multiple FAT partitions on my external HDD for storing music/movies files on my Wii.

My last issue I am having is having my emulators identify my USB device. FCE Ultra GX, Snes9x GX, Mplayer, and Genesis Plus cannot seem to find the USB even though they have the option to load from USB.

Thanks for reading all of my newbie questions. If you made it this far, you deserve a medal. Any information is appreciated, and if you need any help I might be able to answer some questions for basic setup.

If you install Preloader 0.29 and Bootmii, you are 99% protected from Updates and bricking, you can use internet just turn off wii connect 24.
If you update auto,or by disc without Preloader or similar, you will brick your wii.

You can have up to 4 primary partitions on a hard drive, there are multiple media players that will do that. (search forums Function)

All these questions can be answered in either Tutorials/ forums on subject or using the search forums function.
