Unhappy Wii is tempermental, I'm officially stumped

This is the 5th forum I've posted on, hopefully someone here can help me

I'm modding a friend's Wii. It had 3.2u on it and was previously modded.
Except not all the games would work so i suggested we mod it up to 4.1 and use the new gamma loader.

First I updated via the network update to 4.1
Then I installed the newer Homebrew Channel.
Then I ran the IOS60patched.wad and the NeoGammaR6-NGBL.wad
Ran IOS Downgrader to patch the rest and I thought I was done.

Except I popped in Conduit and tested it and it did not work.
So someone suggested to me to just run everything as if it had never been modded. Did all of that.

I popped in Conduit. It loaded. I popped in Mario Galaxy. Loaded.

I popped in Mortal Kombat, no dice.
    Boom Blox, no dice.

Then I tried Galaxy and Conduit again and neither worked. Wth is going on.

I then re-installed the IOS60patched.wad and the NeoGammaR6-NGBL.wad and Mario Galaxy worked!!

But then I tried Conduit and it didnt load followed by another failure to load Galaxy.

I ran IOSDowngrader and it said everything was already patched, I AM OFFICIALLY STUMPED.

The error that comes up when the games fail to load is: Error(1189)

Help me WiiHacks, you're my only hope.

    I don't know why they told you to upgrade to 4.1;
I use 3.2 and I use SD/USB GX Forwarder and I can run all those games.

    1. We're not using usb loader, we're using the discs because we dont have external HD or big enough sd cards. Try getting Ghostbusters to load from a disc on 3.2
    2. Searching was the first thing I did.
    3. You didn't address my problem. The problem is that all IOS are installed, everything is properly installed. Yet it will not consistently read discs. I just reinstalled the gamma loader again and it loaded Mario Galaxy just fine. Go back to system menu, tried to load it again but it failed.

That is the problem. And I cannot find the answer anywhere in the tutorials section or by searching

The only answer I've gotten that might work is running a preloader and switching system menu to ios60, but no preloader is installed.

And are you insinuating that in a homebrew community, i have to pay someone in order to get an answer? I read that unorganized mess of a forum rules and if I have to pay in order to receive help from a wii hacking community then I guess exploitation knows no bounds.

What IOS/cIOS have you installed, what else has been done ie: used any title deleter to delete corrupt cios etc. Have you got any bricking protection ie Bootmii

    I installed

    cIOS38_rev13a
    IOS35
    IOS36
    IOS36Patched
    all on version IOS249

    Also tried installing
    IOS46v2837.wad
    IOS53v4113.wad
    IOS55v5149.wad

When I had ran hackmii to reinstall the homebrew channel, it said Bootmii could not be installed.

It is able to play Official Games like WiiSports just fine.
I was going to install usb loader gx and see if it will play games.
I was also thinking of trying the tutorial to remove softmod.

It sounds like either there is a corrupt Cios/Ios, if bootmii can't install I would say that you have problems with IOS 60.

In the tutorial section there is a couple of tutorials written by Dogeggs that will help.

There is even one to take it back to virgin and start again if required.

We just put in an official copy of Zelda and it errored out. We then rebooted and tried again and it froze, then worked.

I thought of that too and followed the tutorial to remove softmod and then we did the 4.1 virgin mod, including dvdx so we had a preloader and it failed to load the games consistently. on average working 2/10 times.

So we Found someone who used to work for Nintendo who retired last year. He said he would clean out everything and fix the disc drive for $40. We are going to do that. Thanks for trying to help!
