Upgraded SD card to SDHC, some roms not recognized

    Hello,

I just upgraded from a 2 GB SD card to a 4 GB SDHC card. And of the 6 emulators that I had working before, now only 3 are recognizing roms. Genesis, SNES, and Turbografx are no longer working. They still pull up the menus but won't pull up the rom names in the menu.

I checked the compatibility list here

SD/SDHC Card Compatibility Tests - WiiBrew

My Sandisk class 2 is on there as working. So I don't know what could be causing this. Any suggestions?

Maybe those emulator don't support SDHC. A guess.

On wiibrew.org, it says all three are SDHC supported.

You haven't given any information about your Wii, so I'll just state the obvious, firmware 4.0 gives you the ability to use SDHC cards, if your firmware is lower than 4.0 then no SDHC support.

This is for a 4.0u hard modded wii.

I got the SNES fixed. The roms were in a folder within a folder. The Genesis and Turbografx 16 roms still won't load.

Those two say error opening sd card. No files found. What could be causing that?

Thats not correct stomp 442. I have my wii still at firmware 3.2U and I can use SDHC sd cards for my emulators. I have the snes, nes, and genesis emulators and they all support SDHC. It cant be a micro sdhc card put into an sd adapter though. Must be an actual sdhc sd card.

Your Wii should support a 4GB SDHC card. Did you do a quick FAT format on it? If you did, you may want to do the full format. Or you may just need a different SDHC card.

That could be it. I just checked the format software and it is defaulted to quick format. That's probably what it was set on when I used it. I'll have to try it tomorrow, I have a ton of little people over tonight playing Bomberman Blast. But thanks for the info.

No idea why, but that didn't work either. I'm just going to keep fighting with it and I may have to go back to using the old card.
