Hi guys:
Background:
US-NTSC Wii, both hard and soft modded, firmware 3.2U, HBC 1.01, IOS36 v 4.18, Wad Mgr 1.3 by Waninkoko, currently using a 1 Gb SD card
I used to play backup Wii games only, now starting to get some backup Wiiwares games too. Just would like to confirm how it works to prevent it from bricking. Once I installed a wii ware thru Wad mgr from my SD card, a new channel is created on my home menu. Based on my understandings, the actual storage of the game is still within my SD card, right? Which means as long as I don't maxed-out my SD card, I won't bricked my wii? Or once installation is completed, the storage is within my wii itself, and I need to make sure the wii's internal memory is adequate, or else that will brick the wii?
The 2nd part of this question is probably going to be answered during the ones above, but i'll ask anyway just to make it nice and clear. Once the wiiware (wad) was installed, do I still need to keep them in my SD card to play? Also, is it necessary to 'uninstall' the wad if I no longer needs it? It would make sense if it uses memory in the wii, but otherwise why don't we just delete the wad file from our SD card?
Finally, I want to play 'punch out', but it requires my wii to update to 4.0, which I'm afraid i'll lose all those extras from HBC and wad mgr. Is it true that I could keep 'EVERYTHING' (HBC,Wad Mgr) after I updated to 4.0? If so, I'll refer to the upgrade tutorial for updating process.
Thx in adv for the reply :)
