Someone please help me get my WAD's installed.

I have a drivekey installed. System software 4.0 on my wii, and I have the homebrew channel already installed. I have searched for a guide or some easy instructions on getting wads installed on my wii. I have found some, but none are for version 4.0 Maybe it cannot be done, I am just not sure. Could someone please point me to a guide, or send me some instructions. Everything else has gone smooth except for this. Any help would be so so appreciated, as I am so frustrated.

Yeah, Just follow Dogeggs guide Here:

Use waninkokos wad manager to install your wads with ios36. This is what I did on my softmodded wii. Idk anything about Drivekeys. If you need anyhelp following the tutorial I will answer your questions.

Seems pretty easy to do, however i have some questions.

    1) After I complete that guide, Does Wad Manager become a channel on the wii after i install it? How does it actually work. Does it just stay on the SD card, and then any wad's that i want to install i just put them on the SD card apps folder?

    2) I have the homebrew channel already installed, and i tried to install wad manager in the past, and i would always get a not a wad file or not a valid file when i would try and install it. I assume that is because i dont have the io36? And that homebrew channel, i thought i had problems using it with the wii remote. I could not navigate the menu. Do i need a gamecube controller to work with it?

    3. Is the hombrew channel use for everything? So, no matter what I am putting on my SD card, no matter how many wads i put on there, do I always have to launch the Homebrew channel to do stuff?

Knowing me, i think it is safe to assume, after i try this, i will have problems, thus more questions. Thanks again.

The wad manager will not become a channel on your wii system menu, you will have to launch it through Homebrew. The wad manager will stay on your SD card in the apps folder and if you want to install any wads you should put them in a folder on the root of your SD card called "wad" (without quotes.) All the wads (.wad files) in your wad folder on the root of your SD card will appear in the list of wads the wad manager sees and you can install them from there!

The homebrew channel should work with the wiimote.. you're right to think that you might need to install different IOSes to get it working. follow the guides on installing the homebrew channel and make sure you find where and how to install these IOSes... but that's just a thought, I'm not sure this will completely solve your problems... hope it helps!

If you need links to various cIOS installers or IOSes in the form of wads that can be installed, let me know, but it sounds like you wouldn't be able to launch cIOS installer apps through the homebrew channel or load wads with a wad manager through the homebrew channel because you can't get the homebrew channel to work...

so I suppose again, go through the setup process for the homebrew channel. Sorry I cannot be more help here - I do not have a drivekey so I am a little unfamiliar with the potential issues you may be facing.

No, you don't have to use the Homebrew channel to launch everything. Several of the wads you install will create channels on the wii system menu - this is the case for any and all virtual console games and various other apps that the hacking community have created. There are some apps, however, that you will only be able to launch through the homebrew channel, AFAIK.

We are troubleshooting here. Isn't the endless trail of issues just the name of the game? xkcd - A Webcomic - Success

Let me know if you need any instructions clarified or if you still can't get your issues figured out... Good luck and have fun with your wii!

This is one of the friendliest forums I have ever posted in. Other forums, people yell and get angry when someone's asks newbie questions. I try to help everyone, and getting it in return is a nice feeling. I am going to try some of this stuff tonight once the wife falls asleep!
