hi i have a wii 4.0e and am trying to install backup channel but with no luck i have tried to install wads but am getting nowhere.
i have got the homebrew channel and followed numerous tutorials but cannot seem to install anything. any halp much appreciated
Hi Craig and welcome to Wiihacks.
Sounds like you need to restore the Trucha Bug so you'll be able to install wads and other goodies on your Wii.
We'll leave IOS61 alone if you don't mind.
Not sure what tutorials you've followed but try this one out, it really works.

ok so i have followed the steps to get through Trucha Bug Restorer and all seems to go well this time (using network installation).
BUT... when i get to cios38 installer i am getting an error saying during wad install - mounting sd card .... ok!,
reading ios38-64-v3610.wad
please wait ok !
patching custom ios,
please wait... extract error! ret =-1017
and during net install it says -
downloading ios, please wait....
download error ret =-1017.
i have checked that my network is initialised etc and cannot seem to get passed this point, please, any help much appreciated, Thanks again, Craig
