Have recently updated to 4.0e from 3.2e, already had HBC and used Wanikiko 4.0 updater.

Installed cIOS 38 Rev 13b using Custom IOS Installer 2.0 to IOS 249

When I run WSR from USB Drive, the screen goes black...

Have attempted to use DOL fix from SD, added 002 Fix etc..

USB Loader GX Rev 640 (updated this evening..)

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I posted this last week, hope it helps.
I have Wii Sports Resort running on rev9 and USBLoaderGX. Thanks to thelight1974 for a great post on running WSR from Disc using neogamma R6. I don't use discs myself, I run all my games from HDD with usbloaderGX.
The only thing I had to do was run an alternate dol, for those who have not done this, put RZTP01.dol in the root of the SD card. Select alternate dol in the settings of the GX, run the game, watch the video, then go back to settings change back from alternate dol. Game works a treat.
You need the Motion + gizmo. It costs £16 in the UK.

Avoid Nintendo updates wherever possible. Never update using a game disc if you have downgraded your system menu below 3.3. Full Brick is your prize for doing so.

Use safer updates as created by Wanikoko, there are versions on Wiihacks to update to 4.0 and 4.1 without compromising your homebrew. You will still have to run the torrent listed by smurff though.

sysop, If you want to. Don't blunder into it for no good reason though. Think about what you want to gain from it.

I tried the alt dol and still get the black screen... do you have to have the motionplus connected when you start the game ?

Also is Rev9 the best to be on ? how can i downgrade from Rev13 to Rev9 ?

The game does require the motion plus add-on to be able to play it.
My understanding is that all you do is install the Rev version you want, it overwrites the one already installed. If you have Rev13 and it works for you, then don't change it is my advice.

i have chip my wii and softmoded it. my backup launcher says error 002. and it also says update. can i update it if my wii is pal?

Assume you are on about PAL Version of Wii Sports Resort, you need to set the launcher for on 002 error fix.

As for update as far as I know that you do not need to update to get the game to play.
