    Exclamation WBFS stopped responding...please help!!!

    Hi everyone.

I have been at this awhile, running 3.2U, starfall,usbloader,rev13,etc

No worries on any of that....but for some reason a few days ago my wii hard drive with all the games on it stopped being read by my computer.

It keeps asking me if the drive is hooked up correctly or if it is converted to WBFS format.

However I can still play and load all my games fine off it the hard drive when its hooked up to the wii.

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalled WBFS Manager and its to no avail.

Could somebody, please help me out here?

man several days and no replies...this sucks.

I removed Repala Fishing Frenzy off my drive and now wbfs manager on my pc wont read the drive anymore so I cant add anymore.

I have 1TB drive with about 200 games on it so I REALLY dont want to have to start over from strcratch.

Can anyone help me out here, recommend something? a Diff tool for windows otther than wbfs to read the drive from my computer?

Any assistance at all would be extremely grateful.

I had some strange trouble with my drive a while back. It was fine as newly formatted drive but developed an issue when I'd loaded a few games to it.

Not sure if this will help but I had two issues that I resolved.

    1) Changed the USB port I was plugging to to a full power one on my PC. My drive is USB powered.

    2) Changed the WBFS partition to active in Disk management and assigned a non conflicting drive letter.

    It then worked fine.

There's another wbfs program, it's called wbfs_intelligent_gui, not exactly a catchy name but there you go.

No it's just those two that I know of.

Did you try the Disk Management thing?

You might also be able to see it with a Partition manager such as Easus or Partition Magic, these programs tend to be able to see drives that Windows ignores because they do not conform to their standards.

If you can access it then perhaps if you create a small FAT32 logical partition within the unused space like I did which seems to help in the recognition process.

have you tried with another computer? I ask cause I have one that got hit with a power spike due to lightening last year and ever since it will not see the other 4 computers on my home network, nor would others see it, you could be having similar issues before putting blame on a program try diff hardware

Thanks for replying but yes I have a laptop and planned to just use that to add games but the same prob is coming up with it.

    Hey Teal,
can you describe more detailed pls what ur referring too? I literrally have 184 games on this drive so I prob wont start over again with this....

The full drive is wbfs w/o a partition....used either usb loader or wbfs to format it right out of box (bought this drive JUST FOR THIS so can imagine my annoyance)

If i can create a partition and just have 2 diff sections of the drive to load I would be ok with that.... any help or guidance is greatly appreciated here.

I just dont want to have to delete all the games I have now on that drive b/c its literally about 200.....I i couldnt play the wii games on my wii I might feel diff but to wipe the drive while that many are working seems lunacy to me considering the amount of time and effort into compiling it.... but to have 600gb of free space left and not be able to add/subtract any more games is also quite annoying.

    Please enlighten this feeble mind!

Are you sure that you are selecting the right drive letter and loading it with WBFS Manager, I know on my computer I'm allways plugging in other drives and removing them, so one time my WBFS HDD may be drive J:, and another time it was drive L:, so I have to check everytime I connect it to my computer just to see what drive letter it is.

Just a general question - what usb loader and what version of WBFS Manager are you using?

So far, only uloader will read multiple WBFS partitions on the same HDD.

There is a 200 title limit on USB Loader, I'm guessing that's all USB Loaders.

Maybe with 200 games you've hit the limit and it no longer shows because of this.

If this is the case and you have like 201 games, maybe delete a few that you can recover from disc just to experiment with this limit.

well I can still add/subtract games via wii disc drive Teal......

the USB loader taunts me by showing 600gb free on the hard drive

    Stomp:

the wbfs limit is 500 games, not 200. I use coverflow and config USB loader.... which shows 600gb free space still on my drive (its taunting)

i use wbfs 3.0 manager to add/subtract files

    any thoughts?
