Non-SD usb loader game cover help

    Hi,

I'm a noob. and I"ve been searching the forum for a while now but none suits my problem:

My Korean Wii I bought was already modded Although I dunno if softmod only or with chip. And It has 3.2U fw and I recently updated it to 4.0u no problem encountered.

The thing is, my USb loader is already in the system. I have no SD cards, I have a Homebrew channel with nothing inside, a Disc channel that I accidentally deleted and recovered with a different version called Backup launcher. Lastly, I have a Usb loader channel. It has a picture of a white USB dongle with a usb symbol on it and somehow a mini usb hole on it's end. And when pressed start on the channel it will forward to a Waninkoko/Kwiirk Usb loader v1.5 by TeknoConsolas.es

It detects my 120GB HDD fine and works my game fine. Altough It shows no game covers. I use WBFS amanger 3.01 on my PC to load isos and the isos on the PC already shows game covers (my download game cover box is checked ) but when I transfer my HDD to my Wii and load it. No cover will show. Is there anybody who knows what to do? Please advise. And Thanks!

You need the cover images on your SD card, curently all usb loaders load the cover images from SD card. You may want to install a newer USB loader, that one sounds a bit outdated, a newer usb loader will be compatible with the newer games. USB Loader 1.5 is the latest release from wanankoko, all the rest of the loaders are based from 1.5, but with added improvements.

    Hello Stomp_442, thanks for replying.

You said I need images on my SD card. but what about my case that I don't even need an SD card to load my games, as a matter of fact. I don't own an SD card.

Sorry since it's not so clear to me, you mean to say that the SD card's purpose is to store my game covers? If I decided not to buy an SD card then I won't have the luxury to have a game cover on my usb loader? thanks!

There are a few loaders that will load covers and cheats etc.. from the usb, google for instructions, but I think all you need to do is make a fat32 partition on your hdd.

    hello there.

Yes I've googled and most of the results are loaders from SD. I was wondering if there are loaders that aren't from SD but with covers. Thanks!

You may as well get a SD card, you don't need an expensive one. A 2 gig SD card shoud be under $10 (in the USA, don't know where you are). Besides, you will need one to upgrade your homebrew apps. I think brownllamma is right, there may be a usb loader that reads from USB HDD fat32 partition, but you will need a SD card to install a different usb loader.

I second that Stomp_442, an SD card is like a must have when you are messing with the softmods. I think I have about 6 of them laying around with different apps and setups, to test out a lot of the brew. Stomp_442 is right again, a 2 GB SD card should run you under 10$ I think there was a 4GB at compusa for 12.99$, so a 512, which I also use and is more than enough space to do some light-weight stuff like covers and codes and a few loaders, those can be found for like 5 bucks.

I'm from the Philippines, and yep SDs cost pretty cheap here as well. I'm not getting stubborn here but it's not about getting an SD for me. It's how the way it runs my hdd without even needing an SD card. Actually, I've never read anyone that mentioned it before. I've googled it but the results are: usb channel that forwards usb loader to a usb loader app in the SD. etc etc. Mine's kinda unique for a fact that the modder made it in the system.

I even tried usb loader gx wad once, downloaded a wad and I hadiit channel-ed but it didn't detect my drive, I tried my old usb loader it didn't detect my drive as well. somehow I installed something that made it not work.

I run all the CIOS's installer and somehow made my old loader detect my HDD again. I got afraid of usb loader GX then and I uninstalled the channel.

AS per your advises, I'll still try what you've said. thanks!

    yup

its a bich but u can partition your external hdd to load covers off of it but its alot of time to waste just get a sd card its a hell of alot easier and if u got 4.0 u can load your vc and nes snes genesis n64 neo geo etc games straight off your sd card now so its worth the 7 bucks for a sd card then u can use gx loader which is 100 times better than usb loader
