which, i'd estimate, you have a good 30% chance at doing from just installing it.

I really think preloader is right up there with softmii & cioscorp.

Either way though, anyone risking the install of preloader right now is just a sillyhead. With r14 right around the corner..

    Bootmii i trust.

I say that, but at the same time I'm just hesitant of anything that drastically changes the system. Installing, no offense at any homebrew coders, a glued together application and sticking it as the primary boot on the Wii is not a solid solution imo. I mean, google 'system file corrupted' and 99.9% of the time it's Preloader that's corrupted. Sure, everyone is always able to brick. But noobs in the scene are already fear mongered in to this exaggerated need for brick protection. If someone just follows guides and doesn't install any old wad they find on thepiratebay -- they've got extremely slim chances at bricking. Versus, as I said, upgrading, downgrading, upgrading, changing boot2, etc..

Look at softmii and cioscorp. Two, on paper, great programs. The problem is they mess with TOO much stuff. If someone would just install cios 249, install their backup loader, and leave things be. They've got roughly the exact same odds of sporadically bricking as a vanilla Wii.

There are two old sayings that fit the Wii softmod world perfectly. If it aint broke - don't fix it; and, less is more.
