Reading Backup NTSC/J on US Wii

Ok guys so about a week ago I installed the Homebrew Channel and it works fine. Anyway I imported a Japanese game a while back and my brother recently annihilated it. :mad: I could never actually play it but I heard you could play Japanese games on a modded Wii with Homebrew and I was going to try that until my brother jacked up the disk. So that option went out the window. Fortunately I also had the precaution to make a backup copy when I purchased it in case of something like this. So my question is: Is there yet a way to play backup japanese games on an american wii? Please help me out here.
