    retail patches

I have custom firmware 4.0u and I was wondering if a retail(one from a store) game can be patched(if it requires one). Or will it mess up my homebrew or other stuff.

For instance lets say mario kart needed a patch for the online. Can I patch it? Considering it's a retail game and not a backup. Thanks.

Well... in a nutshell.... if you found yourself in a position where a patch was needed for a particular game, you would have to rip the Retail DVD so that you could apply the patch to the .iso and then write it back to a DVD.

That being said, depending on what patch is needed, the loaders these days (or even preloaders) allow you to bypass such requirements.
