Help me modding my new wii

    I'll make it simple:
I bought my wii 3 weeks before, i didn't know about softmodding so i updated my wii to 4.0E but then i realised how expensive each game was so i got interested in modding the wii myself. I am very young to understand all these technical stuff so pleaseeee post a link to a simple tutorial which goes step by step to install backup launcher gamma 0.3 and running burned games on it. So far i've installed IOS249 somehow.

I'll really appreciate any kind of help. Thx

First thing you need to do is install homebrew channel.

Have a look at the top of the page and you will see 'Tutorials', inside there and right at the top you will find a tutorial entitled "How to get Homebrew Channel on Virgin 4.0 Wii."

Follow the tutorial precisely and you will be fine.

I'^ve HBC installed and its version is 1.0.3. I've installed backup channel also but whenever i launch that channel and insert my disc. I go to options, choose PAL50 force = yes. Then i go to launch game and then after a while it says "This disc is unreadable". Why is it happening, is it because i haven't installed an IOS on my 4.0E wii or because i haven't installed DVDx properly.

Also im downloading undercover, fifa 09 all play, call of duty world at war (PAL) torrents so do i need a special IOSs to run these?

I thought DVDx was used to play DVD Video and not backups. I don't believe your unreadable discs is due to that.

Yea it's DVD-R but im confused if i shud burn it on 2x or 4x. I'll try to get an external disc but isn't there any other reason of not running it on my wii?

Some burn at 8x, some burn at 4x and some even burn at 1x. Does it really make much difference?

Of some importance is the brand of DVD-R that you use, recommended highly come the Verbatim brand which cost a little more but do provide good reliability.

Do take note about the USB loader advice, such a time and media saver. It's not difficult to set up and you'll find it opens a whole new world of ease of play.
