i tried dvd+r but get some errors now i'm using dvd-r
Quality DVD-R's should play fine, my Verbatim DVD-R's are ok quality, and they play fine.
YMMV, so find what works for you, then find a spindle sale.
Ive tryed a variety of media now, Most media works but and I stress this, Use ther right software, when I first got my chip and I backed up a game I kept getting errors saying disc canot be read, turn your Wii off and eject the disc, it turned out that some of the disc had bad burns, it was poor media and poor software used to burn it, I was using Nero 7 and now I am using Image Burn and I have used 5 types of -R media and been sucessfull and I have tryed 2 types of +R meida and have been sucsess full, i have been unsuccessfull on 2 -R's and 1 +R's. All Inkjet printables so far have been successful and I did have one or two bad burns but I am linking it to using Nero cause the same type disc worked fine with Imageburn which is free just use google to find it.
use taiyo uden or ritek dye disks and img burn to write em and you should be fine but as stated stay away from dvd+R
I get errors with Dvd+r's , but the dvd-r are working good for me right now...no problems so far
There's a few sites out there that list media compatible with the Wii. If you get DVD Identifier, you can match up the manufacture/disc codes with the database so you don't buy a spindle of 100 DVD+/-Rs that won't work!
I use Verbatim 16X DVD-Rs and they work great.
just bought 200 dvd-r verbatims for 30 cdn =) well hopefully yhey work with my wii if not it will be more movies =/
