    Softmod plus modchip?

I just have a quick question about softmod plus modchip. Are there and disadvantages to having both? I have a new 4.0u Wii with Drivekey modchip and currently the Homebrew Channel. I have no cIOS' installed but that is my question. If I install a cIOS will I lose any functionality like out of region games? I want the cIOS for stuff like wiiware, wads, hddloader, and wi-fi back up. What problems might I encounter doing this. And last but not least is it possible after I install a cIOS that I can revert back to an original IOS? Any help help is much appreciated.

Hardmod + softmod is the way to go m8, you get the best of both worlds....installing a cios won't cause you any problems at all and will enable all the good homebrew If you want to get rid of it at anytime just use AnyTitleDeleter and all traces of it will be gone

Cool thanks for the fast response. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't lose any functionality by doing that. Also, I got one more question if you have the time. After I do this do I need to turn off all updates? Right now I only have other region updates turned off on my mod chip.

to be on the safe side you should turn off updates, any ios that you need can be installed manually...

I'm sorry I know I am being a pain in the a** but last question if I downgrade to 3.2u will I run into problems playing newer games? Thats my last question lol thanks for all the help you were very helpful. If you read my new introduction post you will see I'm not one that like to be annoying by asking questions.

@nicholasblock - I'm glad you asked this question, b/c I'm about to be in the same situation as yourself.
