First check if the serialnumber ( the serial numer is on the bottom of your wii) of your wii starts with LU64/65, if it starts with that then you cannot get homebrew on your wii. If it doesn't then use this http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...n-4-0-wii.html tutorial of dogeggs to get bannerbomb and homebrew on your wii. And then you should be able to install bootmii.

@jappe - yes you can backup your nand to sd then onto pc, its only any use if you can install bootmii to boot2 though. Its quite easy to do and doesn't need a step by step, to install preloader have a look at this guide from 4a-4b.

@malikia - How far did you get with bannerbomb/bootmii?

@Dogeggs - Just got done installing Bootmii as boot2. This is awesome... I'm currently doing a NAND backup... Taking a little long but its well worth it.

@jappe - The Installer is pretty much straightforward like Dogeggs says. It will give you the option to install it as boot2 or as an IOS. The only thing a bit confusing is navigating through BootMii's menu... I thought you used the Wii Remote's Power button to cycle through options... but yep... you have to use the console's Power, Reset, and Eject buttons (If you don't have a Gamecube Controller) to get around. Also to backup ur NAND flash go to Settings (Icon with two gears) and select the option where there is a GREEN arrow coming from the chip pointing to the SD card.

I just tried to install bootmii (I am installing so late because I had to buy another SD).
I downloaded the hackmii installer and copied the installer.elf to my SD. but when I put my SD into my wii and open homebrew I can't see any file. What should I do?

Shouldn't the Hackmii installer be inside the apps folder on your SD card for the Homebrew Channel to see it?

I put the whole hackmii installer map onto my SD in the map apps and it still doesn't work.
