Been searching for literally hours and can't find an answer. Please help!

So I decided to get "Punch-Out" and got a black screen. (Search turns up a lot of these problems but no definite fix and people post links to dead ends) I have a 3.1u wii and installed homebrew via dvd iso. I then installed ciosrev9 and iso60patched. Then tried installing 4.0 waninkoko through homebrew and get a "DSI exception". (I've read through other DSI exception threads and nothing) I proceed to then install IOS36-64-v1042 and still get a DSI exception when trying to upgrade to 4.0 waninkoko. All I want is to play my new games... what more do i need? I've tried following other tutorials on other forums and this tutorial as well http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...working-4.html

I've never used homebrew and had no desire to install it since i got my wii many many months ago.

If you could help me thanks!
