That error means you don't have the CIOS 36 installed correctly. Get rev10 and then try it again. An error -1 means the drive you are using isn't recognized.

Just a quick question. I have a hard drive that I copied games to, hooked up to the wii and worked fine. I hooked it back up to my pc to copy a few more games over that worked. Now the Wii says their is no wbfs partition. I hooked it back up to my pc and the wbfs manager sees it fine along with all the games on it. So my pc knows the games are there but the Wii doesn't. I have turned it off/on/other usb port and same thing. I downloaded fatformat32 and ran that on the drive from my pc, plugged into the wii and same error ret -6 no partition found. It's just strange that it worked once and then stopped. Any suggestions?

I have tried both usb ports, plugged the usb cable in while the wii was off, plugged in after the home brew channel was started, every combination I can think of. Nothing changed other than I hooked it back up to my pc. The pc will still see the drive and games on it, so it's something on the wii side. I have 3.4u, would it help to upgrade to 4.0 or will that throw off the home brew channel and cios I installed initially to get this to work? I even reapplied rev 10 but that didn't help.

well upgrading shouldnt effect this problem at all, i personally upgraded to 4.0u with waninkoko's method but thats a personal choice it shouldn't effect the reading of the drive.

as for the problem curious have u tried any other drives that u may have around to see if this issue is continuing with them. or a friends drive that u know that works on his system to see if your getting same error? also have you tried other usb loaders? theres not too many things that it can be

i know on my buddies wii i had issues with his freezing all the time when you tried it install games finally i went back and installed rev9 and then rev10 with network instead of wad and it cleared it up for him, for some reason wad install on his system didnt install properly the first time i did it on his
