    Some Clarification

okay Ive read/heard all over different stories so Im seeking the TRUE answer.

Is it possible to burn/backup wii games and play them on a modded wii? I heard you have to have a certain burner to burn them? in other places ive heard they havent figured out how to play backed up wii games on a modded wii yet (so whats the point of a mod chip then?) If it IS possible to play backed up games on the wii (of course with a mod chip) does one go about burning them just like you would for a PS2 game etc??

    YES

NO, any dvd burner will do - but for ripping you need an LG DVD drive
... how to play backed up wii games on a modded wii yet
They were probably discussing the new model of wii that cant be modded yet
...does one go about burning them...
you need a program called IMGburn. Burn the image onto a DVD-R.

For a tutorial on burning wii games please refer to this page.

oh sweet thanks!.. how about online play with the online games? does this eliminate the online capability?
Edit: oh also, what do you use for a powersupply if that drive is external and I decided to use an IDE to USB cable? would that cable power the drive as well?

    Hi

As I am new here I would like to know if I can chip a Wii that i bought 15 days ago.
Asking that as Fire time said that the new Wii can't be modded. Is it true, Is there any way to know (May be the Wii serial number) if it is possible or not
    Thanks

If you look on the mod chip's website there are some that are compatible with ALL Wii's..

it depends on where you live. I don't think the D2C (unmodable by any mod chip) chip sets have reached NSTC regions but I do know they are beeing sold in the PAL regions.
