installing WAD manager & 3.2u downgrade without internet

    http://www.wiihacks.com/introduction...-1st-time.html

I originally posted the above link (discussion) in the intro area but I think I misplaced it. since there are nothing but people introducing themselves there.

anyway, I have successfully installed Homebrew on my system using this guide:
ChiboSempai's Guide To Hacking Your Wii: The Really Easy Version - Smash World Forums

However I don't have access to the internet for my wii so I found this guide which supposedly allows me to downgrade my wii to 3.2u without the internet:
Downgrade Wii 3.4 / 3.3 To 3.2 without internet Offline [Victory (download torrent) - TPB

but I'm stuck. In the guide above, it says that I have to have Homebrew and Wad manager. But I can't get the WAD manager if my wii isn't already downgraded to 3.2u. Like I said, i don't have internet access for my wii so how do I get past this problem?

i found this guide here that I thought might be a solution:

    3.3u UPDATE FIX

The problem here is in the guide it states:

"This will only work if you had the Homebrew channel installed before updating to 3.3u."

My wii is 3.3u AND I have Homebrew on it BUT I never updated to 3.3u. 3.3u is my wii's original firmware version. I'm lost...

P.S. - while i'm waiting for an answer here and searching google for answers, i was wondering is it ok if I put in regular games that I bought into my wii and play them? specifically my zelda game. I had to delete my save file in order to do the twilight hack and get Homebrew but now that I have Homebrew can I put my original save file back on my wii together with the twilight hack save file?

Use this guide and then downgrade offline with the pack you got off bittorrent.

@Dogeggs - I just went through and did the guide you posted. How do I know if I have WAD manager for sure? what should i see on my wii or whatever?

I was looking at this link for help but I don't understand it that much:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...html#post50640

P.S. - I did get an error message when I ran the downgrader application but I assume that's normal since I have to downgrade my wii using the offline guide I posted earlier, correct?

Wad manager should be in your apps folder on your sd card? If its not download it here and put it in there. yes, you will get an error msg off the downgrader as you have no active connection...

all right, it worked!! my wii is now 3.2u instead of 3.3u! awesome, thanks dogeggs!

so far this is what I have left to do before my wii is "ready", i have to 1. install backup launcher 0.3gamma (which i have already downloaded) 2. install starfall 3. install wii gator 4. am i missing anything?

also, what about this -> is it ok if I put regular games that I bought into my wii and play them since my wii is now softmodded? specifically my zelda game. I had to delete my save file in order to do the twilight hack and get Homebrew but now that I have Homebrew can I put my original save file back on my wii together with the twilight hack save file?

I have downloaded raving rabbits as a torrent. it shows up as an iso file. I have been reading up on how to get the torrent on a disc playable on my wii. i just need confirmation here that what i'm doing is correct and that i understand everything correctly, that's all. from what I've read, first I need to scrub the iso file using wiiscrubber to make the file smaller. (currently it is 4.37gb) Next, all i need to do is burn the iso file on a verbatim -R DVD at the lowest possible speed. After this, I should be able to simply put the disc into my wii and boot it up just like one of my wii games that I bought from the store. <- is all this correct? I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything or I didn't leave anything out.

You can play your regular games as usual and its safe to delete the twilight hack and put your old save back.
I don't know what you mean by install wiigator? but you are going to need a cIOS249 for the backup launcher to work.
You don't need to scrub the game and you should be ok burning at 4x, you have to launch the game using the backup launcher, ie put game in and then load backup launcher. You can have the launcher as a channel if you want...just install with wad manager.

alright, i will delete the twilight hack from my wii but not from my sd card, right?

this is the link that I used to download the backup launcher with 002 fix built-in.
Demonoid.com - Wii Backup Launcher 0.3 Gamma with the 002 Fix built in

as you can see, the person who posted this wrote "Just install via the wad manager." I don't know what this means specifically. When I extracted the files to a folder on my computer, 5 folders showed up:

    1. cIOS_Installer
    2. Gamma_v2_EN
    3. Gamma_v3_EN
    4. HBC-BL_Gamma_EN
    5. source

Do I put these five folders in the "wad manager" folder which is in the apps folder on the root directory of my sd card? What do I do when I go into "WAD manager" on my wii?? I think the person who posted those files had good intentions but left out a lot of information for technically inept persons such as myself. If you don't mind would you clarify please, dogeggs?

Do you know if the two files you mentioned above are included in the five folders I listed above?

You don't need to scrub the game and you should be ok burning at 4x, you have to launch the game using the backup launcher, ie put game in and then load backup launcher.
Ok, so I just burn the iso file directly to disc then, and then put the game in and load it via backup launcher. Ok, I understand now. (i'm doing that right now.)

So im assuming that 3. Gamma_v3_EN is a wad file? just put it in your wad folder and install that one, forget about the others. You will still need the cIOS249 though, use the one i linked in my previous reply and you be good to go and you can delete the save from your wii and your sd card if you like...its done its job now and is no longer required...
