    Exclamation Failed install of 4.0, now wii wont boot up

    Hey guys,

    I just tried running the install for 4.0 as seen on the sight wehackwii.com. I previously had my wii soft modded on 3.4e and everything ran well until last step of installing 4.0. It chucked back an error. I persume this error was due to the fact that i didnt check if there were any free slots. So i then rebooted the wii, only to find that the screen now remains black and doesnt boot into wii menu. Dvd ejects and accepts disks but my wii mote wont sync. Ive read around on the net, that this prob is quite common, but nobody has found a fix yet.

    Can anyone shed any light

    REMOVE SD CARD AND TRY THIS..

    1. Connect the Nunchuck to the Wiimote and press Home to see the menu options.
    2. Press A + 2 + Z together which should result in a short ?ping-like? sound.
    3. You have now activated the interlaced mode.
    4. Leave the menu and you should see the normal game screen.
    5. To switch back to regular mode use the same method above and press A + 1 + Z.

    I hope it will work for you!

    Good luck!!!

    Problem is tho that when i turn the wii on it displays the green light but nothing is on the screen, just remains black and no audio to signal the wii is booted either, i can access the dvd drive as normal tho even without any picture on the screen.

    NB* Im using componet and have tried switching back to the RCA's, also put in an original pal game hoping that would make it boot, nothin, tried different ports on the back of the television. Unpluged everything and repluged and tried to boot with SD card not in, and still no luck !

    Thanks

    or this....1. Eject the disk
    2. Unplug the wii at the back
    3. Wait 1 minute
    4. Plug it back in
    5. Turn it on from the remote
    6. Press reset if it does not show up
    7. Hold the power button to shut it off
    8. Turn it on once more.

    I hope that will do it for you, Good luck

    Angry Blank Screen, Brick?

    It looks like I have the same problem. I had installed the preloader and after that if I exited the HBC it said corrupt system files. Other links suggested WAD install , did not help kept loading back to HBC, then I loaded 3.2 ver290 pal (Eur machine) and now the system loads to blank screen. My theory is that my system menu was corrupt and but it was fine loading to the HBC via the SD card , but now I got rid of the preloader , it has nowhere to go.
    My question is can the Wii be forced to load the HBC or resolution file via the SD card??
    Have I a brick or are there solutions out there?

    If it is bootable to a black screen showing what firmware version, there is ways to recover;
    or if you had Bootmii installed as Boot 2.

    Sounds like some of you have installed/updated the wrong region.
    If so your Wii is Bricked.

    4.0U = US
    4.0E = EUR
    4.0J = JAP

    How To Install System Menu v4.0!
    Thanks to Waninkoko and some handy-dandy forum searching, I've successfully created a easy-to-follow tutorial, on how to safely update you Wii to System Menu v4.0!

    PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THAT THIS MAY BRICK YOUR WII, PLEASE USE EXTRA CAUTION!
    I read this on their site..

    And the part that says "PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THAT THIS MAY BRICK YOUR WII, PLEASE USE EXTRA CAUTION!" would have made me look for a different
    solution.
    PLEASE SEARCH, READ, AND THINK BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.
